I ordered this thinking I'd use it for some of my harder soaps as I felt the boar would give it more backbone. It does have more backbone, but very minimal "scritch". It's not quite as soft as my silver tip or high mountain badger brushes, but it's close, and it has more backbone which actually works really well for creams as well as soaps for me personally. No animal smell at all even from the get go, minimal hair loss, and this is honestly my preferred knot and I have as I said silvertip and high mountain knots. Got the rosewood handle for it and what a great combination. Great quality here and great prices too.
Looks great in my Ever Ready 100T brush. Would have been 5 stars if it had more backbone. I like the "scritch" factor of the mixed bristle.
