Silvertip is one of the most expensive types of badger hair, and is from hair found only on the animal's muzzle and neck area. It is highly prized and offers excellent water retention and very soft tips, yet with a good backbone. Many companies sell bleached 'super' badger hair as Silvertip. Ours is unbleached, authentic, and left with its naturally off-white color.
This brush exceeded my expectations. I was on a quest to set badger, horse, and boar in my own vintage Rubberset 400 style interchangeable brush. I bought all three knots from Shaveforge. This Silvertip knot is has the most splay, plenty of backbone, and the tips are incredibly soft after it’s been soaked. It delivered a truly amazing lather and shave. No shedding on this knot outside of a few strands after mounting and the first shave. I highly recommend this knot. The quality and price are spot on. I’m really impressed with Shaveforge and will buy again.
Probably my best Silvertip brush. Soft, outstanding backbone and excellent quality.
This brush is dense, makes superb lather and arrived without the usual odor, associated with natural brushes. It’s not the softest I’ve ever used, but it comes close. All new brushes shed a few hairs, but this one hardly shed any at all. Highly recommended.
This is a very nice, dense knot. The knot had good backbone with soft-tips. I primarily use it to face lather, and it does a great job of exfoliating while generating great lather.
