Hair from the badgers found in the high mountains of China. High Mountain White badger hair is characterized by long white tips and a thick middle band. This hair offers the ultimate shaving experience with excellent water retention and extremely soft milky tips.
This is one of the more expensive knots that I have so I am by no means an expert on high end badger, but I am very impressed with the knot. Mounted in a Rubberset 400 handle and just tried it out. Super dense, soft with enough back bone and more than enough splay. Honestly glad the Ultra Dense was out of stock as I do not think any more is needed in this knot. Looking forward seeing how the knot ages with use.
It’s been many years since I’ve had to break in a new brush. The past few have had a funky smell for several months while they were broken in…but not this one! Great performance from day one, and virtually no smell!
Very well made, very little shedding if any.
Bristles bloom out quite well after initial break-in.

I bought a hand made brush handle from Shave Forge, and selected this knot to go with it. I really like the idea of being able to mix and match handles and knots to make a unique shave brush. I have never seen this before. I liked the results so much that I ordered a second handle and knot less than a week later. This knot is exactly the size I wanted, and better quality than I expected. Great performance, and very little shedding. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
