Silvertip is one of the most expensive types of badger hair, and is from hair found only on the animal's muzzle and neck area. It is highly prized and offers excellent water retention and very soft tips, yet with a good backbone. Many companies sell bleached 'super' badger hair as Silvertip. Ours is unbleached, authentic, and left with its naturally off-white color.
What a great knot at a very fair price. It performs like any higher-end silver tip.
Silicone glued this into my new wooden handle and then next day did the clean and condition of the badger hair knot. After sitting 12 hours and then rinsing thoroughly, the knot, bloomed into a nice fully formed brush! Great for lathering paste, cream or hard puck type soaps!
I have little experience with badger knots, but it seems to be quality with no odor. I haven't used it yet to see how it holds up. Makes for a smaller size brush.
