Wow! This shaving knot impressed from the first time I used. After gluing in the handle I purchased here and letting the glue cure for 24 hours, I then took and conditioned it by a quick soak in hot water with a few drops of dish detergent and let soak for 20 minutes. Very slight odor to the bristles. Then did a shaving soap condition by loading up the brush with lots of dense lather to excess, then let it sit out overnight letting the soap soften the hair. Rinsed it out thoroughly.
The lathering ability of this know is superb! The lather loads up into the bristles and stays there. The brush holds enough dense lather for two or three applications of the shaving soap.

Shave Forge's HD High Mountain White knot is easily the softest shaving brush knot I've ever used. Hairs are fine and densely packed. The tips are white and plush. This is a small badger pillow that is comfortable from first use. Sure, there's not a ton of backbone, but that's par for the course for a 3 band badger knot. Backbone can easily be added by setting the knot deeper in the handle or the addition of an o-ring at the base of the knot. This HMW knot is pure luxury for your face and easily stands with the best knots available. Fantastic price for a premium feeling knot.
I've used this one for a couple of weeks now, and it's beyond awesome. The bristles are soft and hold a lot of water, but due to the density of the bristles, it still has enough backbone as well. Highly recommended!
This is an amazing knot. Simply put, it is pure LUXURY! The best balance of ultra soft "gel tips", medium- firm backbone, and übersoft plush high density construction. This is the closest thing to a perfect face feel that I can imagine in a shaving brush knot. I will be ordering more of these for upcoming brush handles I am getting.
